Today, a call triggered an idea, triggered a quick project, triggered this post. And where did this trigger all start from — well from one of the great REALTORS I met at this years REALTOR Land Institute Conference. Todd (sorry didn’t get your last name) called me this morning and asked for some recommendations on a quick way to follow up with other REALTORS after a showing.
I’m sure there are some gadgets and sites that are out there, but the first thing that came to mind was linking a web form to a Google spreadsheet. What this would allow, would be a very easy way to create a web form that you can email to the agent, that would then update a spreadsheet for further data slicing and dicing.
This of course is one of those things that probably makes a little more sense through a demo, than explaining over the phone and/or sending some links. So Todd – here is a quick and dirty proff of concept ‘Showing Feedback Form’. It links directly to a Google Apps spreadsheet, which can be downloaded into Excel for pure data fun.

Just to toss out there — I know a lot of MLSes and 3rd parties actually provide this functionality as part of their web site packages. I’d suggest asking them first if you haven’t already.

I’ve used http://www.ShowingFeedback.com for feedback. It’s free and seems to work well, when the agents feel like providing feedback, that is. As pointed out elsewhere, many agents are beginning to either be less than truthful with their feedback or simply don’t provide any at all. Resentment on the seller’s part caused by honest feedback can torpedo a deal quickly, especially if the buyer’s agent hasn’t presented the feedback in a constructive manner. Perhaps “Presenting Feedback 101″ should be added to the CE curriculum.
Thanks for sharing this information. I am always looking for ways to organize myself and my work. This form looks great and I can see how it could be very useful…just hope the other party fills out the information.
I’m thinking of using it to organize showings, advertising and other information clients can pull up at any time. If they are wonderingabout advertising they can see a history and a web link.
Thanks!
The problem with this, and the existing solutions, is that they take too long. When I’ve shown forty houses over three days, there is no way that 1) I am going to give feedback for those listings 2) I won’t necessarily remember them all.
Find me a solution where I can provide feedback as I’m walking out the door and I’ll implement it.
Thanks for all the positive feedback! Hope this little ditty can help you guys out. Like I said. It was super quick, and I like that it feeds right into a spreadsheet. No database magic needed.
@Jim Duncan – I see your point. You can always lock the agent in the unit until they fill something out.
But this form is probably smart phone friendly. I am gonna ponder some ideas..maybe something will come to mind.
I am working in a team of Toronto realtors and we are using these google applications daily. So far we didn’t use it for getting feedbacks but it is one of the most important tools used for our internal communication. It is great that e.g. Weblog is accessible from different places and could be updated by more users. There is also chat possible. It is simple, user-friendly and free. Another great service of google.
That is GREAT! I use Google Apps for some things but this one slipped by me…SUPER!
You might also check out FormLogix.com for a FREE configurable form manager for all your website form needs….
Laters!
