Death of the MLS?

This is a short post but I thought the community might be interested.

If MLS issues are your thing, you should checkout the new blog sponsored by FBS. The tag line of the blog is “Conversations about the MLS industry, creating software, and employee ownership.”.

    It’s interesting to see how they feel about Trulia and Zillow, being that they mentioned they are heavily entrenched in MLS. Thanks for the post Mark, I’ll be following that blog as well.

    To be effective, the MLS needs to be public facing. All the information. The average consumers are mystified and fearful of the systems. They are treated as competitive business entities and they don’t really help the end consumer because the information is kept private.

    To be effective, the MLS also needs to protect the privacy of the property owner. Think about it. Do you want the world to know your security access codes, the times when you will not be home, or confidential negotiating matters?
