Thanks for the conference info, many realtors have a very hard time getting started on their web, and then getting true leads to their sites.

Hi Todd, Just thought I'd drop by because I attended the conference and, as a web developer working exclusively with Realtors(R), I found the developer day session to be absolutely fantastic. Please do it again, do more like it, and let me know if you guys are coming out to the 'burbs anytime soon. -Matt

Here is the schedule for Developer Day 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Real Estate Technology—What Is Driving Development? A long-standing technology prognosticator, Michael will discuss the history of tech in real estate and the nature of tech disruption, including how the universe tends to look after tech has torn up a traditional market.

Is Mapping the Ultimate Interface for Real Estate? On search services, broker sites, blogs, neighborhood guides, even personal web sites, maps are everywhere on the Internet today. The richness of Internet mapping continues to grow and the complexity—as well as promise—of integrating maps into applications expands concurrently. Will maps become the ultimate real estate interface, or are they just a step toward even more sophisticated interfaces?

The Human Factor: Getting Them To Use What We Build We can build it, but will they come? As we all know, people are the only element in technology not subject to Moore’s Law. Since they don’t double in power each 18 months, getting humans to change their ways and adopt even the greatest software is nearly as big a challenge as writing it! Experts on usability, training, and release strategies will join execs behind successful rollouts to discuss what it takes to get customers to drink your Kool-Aid.

STANDARDS IN REAL ESTATE TECHNOLOGY Emerging Technologies: Transformative Tools Of course standards are important to spur inter-operability and speed development. But just how important are they for emerging real estate technology? And who should drive standards forward? Is RETS the answer or should standards emerge from the products customers use most? How can you keep the balance between proprietary and open in a turbulent time? Mark Lesswing, Vice President, Center for REALTOR® Technology is speaking at this session.

WORKING LUNCH WITH ROB MALDA, FOUNDER OF SLASHDOT Telegraph Hill Meeting Room, Level 2 A freewheeling, interactive discussion with Rob Malda, a.k.a. CmdrTaco, open source guru and the Founder of Slashdot.

DEVELOPER INTENSIVES Each intensive will consist of a one hour session on a critical area of real estate software development. Topics will include: â—? Mapping â—? Search and Document Management â—? Transaction Management â—? Analytics

BIRDS-OF-A-FEATHER ROUNDTABLES At the end of the day, we’ll have a gathering of tech tribes: Banners on key development topics proposed by attendees will be unfurled and informal groups will gather around them to share and collaborate in a (very) lightly facilitated discussion. Find out who else is a part of your tribe!

COCKTAILS@CONNECT RECEPTION Ralston Room, Level 1 and Sunset Court, Level 2 Connect TECH attendees will join colleagues from the Inman Real Estate Connect Conference at real estate’s premier networking get together. We hope to see you there.

Sounds fun! Who will be there? What will be presented, who's providing the content? How will this help me develop for Realtors? I mean, I like all those companies, but I can't fly to san francisco just because they're all sponsoring the same conference.
